Looking for love? There are lots of free dating apps out there, but as with love, it can be a bit of a jungle to find the right one.
The apps have somewhat different target audiences and approaches to finding matches for you. They also differ in what you get for free versus paying for an upgrade. And let's face it: A free app isn't very useful if you can't find anyone you like on it, either because it has too few members or because the users aren't the type of match you're looking for.
The most commonly used apps are Match.com and OKCupid. The site also reviewed Plenty of Fish, Skout, Tinder and Zoosk.
Cheapism offers a handy chart to show the differences between the apps, including what services you'd get for subscribing and what options you have for connecting with other members.
A note about dating apps: Contrary to regular dating sites, the apps also provide a way to find people near you in real time if you're looking for something less serious.
Cheapism also provides a couple of useful tips. For instance, you have to write a good profile to give people a clear idea who you are from the beginning. And it has to be truthful. With that, happy "hunting!"
